The Foundation

The Society for Study of Pain Pune (SSPP) was founded in 2014 by a group of visionary senior pain physicians dedicated to advancing the field of pain management. Conceived as a platform for clinicians, educators, and researchers, SSPP has played a pivotal role in strengthening pain medicine—an emerging superspecialty evolving from anaesthesiology.

Recently, SSPP successfully organised a national-level conference, showcasing the capability and scientific strength of its members.

The Path Forward

Driven by purpose, compassion, and scientific enthusiasm, SSPP continues to:

Elevate pain medicine as a premier superspecialty with structured training and high academic standards.
Promote holistic management, integrating interventional techniques, rehabilitation, and psychology.
Foster research & innovation into pain mechanisms and emerging technologies.
Enhance public awareness, empowering patients and reducing stigma associated with chronic pain.

"Through consistent effort, collaboration, and academic rigor, SSPP has established itself as a leading voice in pain medicine."
